School Closed – Transitioning to Independent Study

As you now know, in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, New Vision Middle School (NVMS) will be closed, effective Monday, March 16, 2020.  Starting Tuesday, March 17, our students will be transitioning to Independent Study and completing school work at home.  This is not considered "extra work," but a transition of our regular school schedule to support learning at home - so it is important for the students to complete independent study assignments.  Teachers will be supporting students remotely to complete independent study work packets.  Completed packets will be due to the school when school resumes, currently scheduled for Monday, April 6, 2020.

We are asking parents to pick-up Independent Study Work Packets at the school between 7:30am – 9:30am on Tuesday, March 17 in a drive-through at the school.    Cones and signs will be visible in the parking lot to direct families to the area designated for pick up.  If you have any questions regarding this process, please call the NVMS Office at 909-888-8390.

NVMS students will be able to receive free breakfast and lunch beginning Monday, March 16. With the support of the San Bernardino City Unified School District,  all students (including NVMS students) can go to any SBCUSD school site at the following times to receive breakfast and lunch, as long as the individual is age 18 or younger.

  • Breakfast - 8:20am to 8:50am
  • Lunch - 11:30am to 12:45pm
